Artist Mentorship and Creative Workshops in and Around Toronto, Ontario

ONE-on-ONE artful mentorship

mdempsterGP-205

A one-on-one mentorship session is an invitation back into creative relationship with yourself.

Together, we make space for what feels stuck, scattered, dormant, or ready to emerge — tending the deeper creative currents beneath overwhelm, transition, or uncertainty.

These sessions are conversational, intuitive, reflective, and collaborative.

We will nurture the conditions for your creative honesty, momentum, imagination, and reconnection to unfold naturally.

This space may support you if:

  • you are moving through transition or creative reinvention
  • you feel disconnected from your own voice, rhythm, or practice
  • you sense something within you asking for expression
  • you long for creative momentum that feels spacious rather than pressured
  • you move more deeply when witnessed, accompanied, or in dialogue

✨ I can create a space where you can hear yourself more clearly — and trust what wants to emerge!✨

Available online or in person.

ART-JOURNALING WORKSHOPS

Art journaling workshop

A creative ritual for slowing down, listening inward, and giving form to what is unfolding beneath the surface.

These workshops invite participants into a gentle but meaningful practice of visual reflection through art journaling, intuitive mark-making, collage, writing, and symbolic exploration.

More than documenting experience, the process becomes a way of entering relationship with the self — creating space to notice patterns, emotions, insights, and inner movement as they emerge in real time.

Through guided prompts, simple creative rituals, and accessible visual practices, participants build a personal record that is both expressive and deeply grounding:
part journal,
part artwork,
part conversation with the inner world.

No artistic experience is needed.
Only curiosity and a willingness to begin.

Participants are invited to:

  • develop a sustainable creative ritual they can return to beyond the workshop
  • visually track insights, emotions, and moments of transformation
  • explore creativity as a form of self-connection rather than performance
  • engage in reflective dialogue with image, colour, texture, and symbol
  • create a meaningful keepsake that continues evolving over time

The atmosphere is spacious, intuitive, and supportive — balancing quiet reflection with creative exploration and shared discovery.

These workshops work beautifully as:

  • grounding morning sessions
  • integration spaces within retreats
  • reflective creative gatherings
  • seasonal or transitional rituals
  • community-building experiences rooted in self-inquiry and expression

At its heart, this work is about rediscovering the quiet magic of showing up consistently to one’s own creative life.

Not to make something perfect.
But to build a living relationship with attention, imagination, and inner truth.

Available for retreats, creative communities, wellness spaces, and transformational gatherings.

I’d love to explore what kind of experience could be created for your group.

THE INWORD EXPERIENCE

wORdPLAY + SELF DISCOVERY

This is the prototype for an oracle deck in the making called INWORD, the inaugural deck in a series called wORd

INWORD is an immersive workshop experience exploring the hidden emotional, symbolic, and creative intelligence held inside everyday words.

The INWORD Initiation is facilitated by myself and collaborator Danette Relic — artist, author, coach, and host of The Soft Shoulder Podcast.

Using the INWORD oracle deck as both mirror and catalyst, participants engage in guided reflection, intuitive wordplay, journaling, conversation, and visual exploration designed to shift perception and deepen self-awareness.

At its core, INWORD invites people to listen differently:
to language,
to pattern,
to intuition,
and to the quieter truths beneath conditioned identity.

Rather than offering fixed answers, the experience opens space for curiosity, resonance, and unexpected insight — where words become portals into imagination, memory, emotion, and inner clarity.

What to Expect

Symbolic Wordplay & Guided Exploration

Interactive prompts and language-based practices that awaken insight, creativity, and connection through play.

Journaling & Creative Mark-Making

Reflective and visual exercises that engage both intuition and imagination — honoring the relationship between image, feeling, and language.

Collective Reflection

Shared discoveries and layered conversations that create meaningful connection and reveal the wisdom held within group experience.

The workshop moves fluidly between quiet introspection and dynamic exchange — spacious enough for personal revelation, grounded enough for authentic community to emerge naturally.

INWORD is especially aligned for:

  • Retreats centered on transformation, creativity, or self-inquiry
  • Artistic and literary gatherings
  • Leadership and embodiment spaces seeking deeper reflection
  • Communities interested in symbolism, storytelling, and relational dialogue
  • Groups longing for more meaningful connection through shared creative experience

INWORD is not about self-improvement performance or finding the “right” interpretation.

It is about developing a deeper relationship with language, perception, and the living symbolic patterns shaping our inner and outer worlds.

The INWORD experience can bring magic and insight to your retreat, gathering, or community!
